Purva Bhattacharjee

Purva Bhattacharjee is the Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Advocate at Housing California, primarily focusing on advocacy efforts to reduce homelessness statewide.
Purva brings several years of experience in policy advocacy and coalition-building to serve vulnerable populations such as current and former foster youth. Prior to joining Housing California, she served as the Child Welfare Policy Advocate for the California Alliance of Child and Family Services, where she led advocacy efforts to increase access to transitional housing placement (THP) programs for former foster youth and secure funding to preserve Foster Family Agencies (FFAs). She previously worked as a Communications Specialist for the California Medical Association, representing over 50,000 physicians statewide, before switching to more policy-oriented roles.
Purva holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Communications from the University of California, Davis.
