Jack Dorfman
Jack Dorfman is a Strategic Initiatives Associate at Housing California focused on the Road Map Home 2.0. In collaboration with Housing California’s cross-sector partners, the Residents United Network, and key legislators, he helps bring together a diverse network to make impactful policy and narrative change to deliver for all Californians.
Before joining Housing California, he served as a field representative for Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel in the same San Fernando Valley neighborhoods he grew up in, helping connect housing and basic needs organizations to the legislative and budget processes. Collaborating with Hope the Mission, the West Valley Food Pantry, YMCA of Metro LA, local schools, and dozens of other key stakeholders, he helped lead one of the largest service projects in the state as part of Assemblymember Gabriel’s annual Day of Service event, including bringing together more than 300 volunteers to make 20,000 of servings of lasagna (an unverified world record) for neighbors in need. With a background in academic research, Jack has assisted Professor Nhat-Dang Do in reviewing thousands of position letters sent to the California State Legislature, identifying strategies that differentiate and lead to success for organizations representing racial minority groups, presenting the findings at the 2025 American Political Science Association Conference for peer review.
Jack received a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of California, San Diego.
